One of my favorite places to go for discovering new music is NoiseTrade. That's where I found Kayla Conn, an up-and-coming country artist from Cypress, TX. Her latest EP is available on NoiseTrade for a suggested tip. But, you can find her music on Amazon as well. Let me know what you think, and be sure to let your friends know that Festival of Songs is back with new music every Friday!

Shane Paul Smith - "Lonely on the Bright Side"
I'm proud to say that I "discovered" Shane at a heavily-biased, Idolesque mall talent show when I was working in New Orleans radio back in 2003. I financed a recording session with producer Jack Miele, who later reconnected with Shane. Eventually, Jack introduced Shane to Tom Drummond (of Better Than Ezra), and they entered the studio to produce Shane's latest release, The Short of It. Shane has a knack for clever wordplay in his songwriting. Check out the music using the links below, and I'll be sure to keep you posted as his career moves forward.

Ryan Spendlove - "The Years Go By"
As I gear up for the relaunch of Festival of Songs, I'll be presenting you with various songs that I have discovered on the web. Some of these songs may be fairly new, others might be older. Some covers, some originals. Sit back, enjoy, and get in touch if you have a song in mind for Festival of Songs!
Here's a video I found on YouTube of Ryan Spendlove performing "The Years Go By" from his latest release, Fable. I don't know much about Ryan, just that the song caught my ear. Check out the links below for more info. ENJOY!

Julia Price - "You Got a Girlfriend"
Hey people! It's been a while since I've given you new music, and for that, I'm sorry. More new music is on the way, I promise! Anyway, I wanted to give you an update on one of my favorite new artists. I featured Julia Ilowiecki back in April, but things have changed for Julia since then. The biggest change is her name. Julia explains it best, "I will now be going by Julia Price as my music name (Price is my middle name). I love my Polish last name but it's just too hard to spell and pronounce and ... you get the point!"
In addition to her name change, Julia recently completed recording her upcoming album, which is scheduled to be released in March. While I don't have any of the new music to share with you just yet, I hope you'll enjoy this video of Julia having some fun live.
